St. Pölten is a compact city, and most places are easy to reach by bike or bus. Whether you want to explore the city or travel to Vienna (which is only 25 minutes away by train!), here is everything you need to know.
Nextbike (Bike Sharing)
The most convenient way to get around the city. St. Pölten has a special deal where the first 15 minutes of every ride are free. Since the city is small, this usually covers your entire trip!
- How it works: Download the app, register (free), and scan the QR code on the bike to unlock it.
- Cost: The first 15 minutes are free. After that, it costs a small fee (usually €1 per 15 mins).
- Tip: You can return the bike at any official station. Make sure to push the lock down to end your rental.

- Student Offer: There is a monthly student ticket (Studententicket) at a reduced price for students under 26.
- Where to buy: You can buy tickets via the VOR AnachB App, online at the VOR Ticketshop, or at the VOR Service Centre at the train station.
